Palm Sunday was the day sheep were led into Jerusalem to be inspected for blemishes before the Passover celebration began. If any blemishes were found, the sheep did not qualify for sacrifice. It is more than just a coincidence that Jesus, the Lamb of God, was entering Jerusalem at the same time. He alone is the only one without blemish, without sin, that could be the sacrifice for our sins.
