We are currently in the remodeling process at church. Our offices needed work due to leaky roofs and lack of usable space. After plans were presented to the Elders, the remodeling work was turned over to an expert to make it happen. Walls were ripped apart, concrete jack-hammered and garbage thrown out. The process has caused a great inconvenience amongst most of the staff, but it will be worth it. One room at a time is getting fixed up with new, clean carpet, doors, shelving and lighting. The end result will be worth it all!
This whole process is a reminder for me what God wants to do with our lives. He has a plan for us and we have to turn over our lives to the expert, Jesus Christ, who is more than just a carpenter. He then starts the demolition of the old rotten stuff and throws out the garbage. His intention is to have more, clean, usable space. It can feel very inconvenient at times, but as we give Him more and more room in our hearts, the end result will be worth it. The old is gone, the new has come! We will function so much better and enjoy our new environment.
Jesus Christ is more than just a carpenter. He is the master craftsman who specializes in remodeling.
